Saint Jean Industries can provide comprehensive engineering support, from the design of parts to mass production. All of the studies and developments can be conducted in-house in liaison with our various branches, ensuring that the response is adapted to your requirement.

Product development

Our research department devises and designs parts in accordance with your specifications, based on an existing part, an environment or a blank sheet. The process includes iterations with the calculation and simulation branches to achieve the targets set in terms of mass, mechanical strength and thermal resistance improvements.

Casting and forging simulation

All developments go through casting and forging simulation as part of the COBAPRESS™ process to determine the feasibility of the parts designed and ensure the highest possible level of quality.

Advantages of casting simulation:

  • Reduces the development time for a part.
  • Prevents numerous tooling modifications by producing defect-free parts from the first casting.
  • Determines the process parameters without tests.

Advantages of forging simulation:

  • Reduces the development time for a part.
  • Prevents numerous tooling modifications by producing defect-free parts from the first strike.
  • Defines the type of press to use.
  • Optimizes the lifespan of forging tooling.

Tooling developments

All our tooling is designed in-house for more flexibility and responsiveness. The tooling branch interacts with the product and simulation branches to obtain the best solution.

Tests and inspections

The final validation of a part involves the production of a prototype that will be subjected to a battery of tests and correlated with computer models: static resistance, mechanical and thermal fatigue, impact, corrosion, sealing, etc.
